World Day of Prayer
The Faulkner County celebration of the World Day of Prayer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 1, at First Presbyterian Church, 2400 Prince St. in Conway. Organized by Church Women United, the event is free and open to the community. The theme of this year’s celebration, "I was a stranger and you welcomed me," was developed by the women of France out of their experience of life as women within a multicultural society.

New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church Anniversary
New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church of Conway will celebrate their Ninth Church Anniversary at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 3. Pastor Pleas Davenport of Palarm Chapel Baptist Church in Mayflower and Pastor Elbert Credit of Lighthouse Christian Church in Conway, will be special guests. The theme for this year’s service is "A Church built upon Christ," coming from Matthew 16:18. The Rev. William E. Forte’, Jr. is the host pastor. The public is invited.
Laskarov at First Christian Church
First Christian Church, 550 Watkins, is pleased to have Kiril Laskarov, Co-Concertmaster of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, participate in its 10:45 a.m. worship service on Sunday, March 3. The public is invited to join in worship.
Kiril Laskarov is currently in his 12th season as Co-Concertmaster of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and sixth year as Orchestra Director at the Episcopal Collegiate School in Little Rock. A native of Bulgaria, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State Academy of Music in Sofia and master’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. A winner of the 1995 Bulgarian National Competition, Laskarov has appeared as a soloist with the Arkansas Symphony, Las Vegas Philharmonic, Southern Illinois Symphony, Abilene Philharmonic, Texas; and Texarkana Symphony Orchestra, Texas; and also presented recitals in Little Rock, Memphis, Kansas City and Dallas.
He will play the Prelude, Offertory and Postlude. He may also play along with pianist Deitra Blackwell on the hymns.
Greenbrier Church of Christ will be hosting a Gospel Meeting March 3-7 with the theme, "Jesus: The Great ‘I Am,’" with Jeremiah Tatum from Willow Avenue Church of Christ in Cookeville, Tenn.
Sunday morning class will be at 9:30, Sunday morning worship will be at 10:30, a potluck lunch will be served after morning services, Sunday afternoon worship at 1:30, and weekly evening worship at 7 Monday through Thursday.
The church is located at 12 Wilson Farm Rd., Greenbrier. The public is invited to this free event.
Financial Peace University at Grace United Methodist
Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University (FPU) will be offered at Grace United Methodist Church from March 10-May 12. Classes will be held on Sunday afternoons from 2 to 4.
FPU is a 9-week course over changing the way you handle your personal finances. By beginning the FPU class, you are joining millions of others who have already taken this journey and are now living the results. Dave Ramsey and his team teach everything based on Biblical principles.
