One of nine girls will be named 1963 Faulkner County Dairy Princess in a contest at 8 o’clock tonight at the Greenbrier school. The winner will represent the county in the state contest at Little Rock in June. The contestants are Linda Wilder of Greenbrier, Linda Harrison of Damascus, Jean Ann Fielder of Greenbrier, Karen Land of Vilonia, Betty Brannan of Greenbrier, Kay Woodward of Vilonia, Judy Combs of Greenbrier, Jamye Moffett of Conway and Pat Freeman of Greenbrier. The reigning Faulkner Princess is Mrs. Thomas Monte Minton of Little Rock, the former Gayle Ann Bivens of Guy.

Matt Lea of Conway finished sixth yesterday in the Governor’s Cup bass tournament sponsored by the Arkansas Bass Association.

Fishing on Lake Dardanelle, Lea accumulated a two-day total of 21 pounds, 2 ounces. Doug Garrett of Cabot won the top prize with 31 pounds, 10 ounces.

Jaimi (Mimi) Allen, daughter of Bill and Susan Allen, is valedictorian for the 2002-03 graduating class of Mount Vernon-Enola, and Lena Caudill, a daughter of Gary and Diane Caudill, is the salutatorian.

Honor graduates are Kortney Bargiel, Tisha Ogden, Krystal Brewer, Nick Howey and Jon Osborne.

Graduation is 3 p.m. Sunday at the University of Central Arkansas.
