Springhill Baptist annual Homecoming

Springhill Baptist Church will hold its 153rd annual First Sunday in June Homecoming, on Sunday, June 2.

Sunday School will begin at 9:50 a.m. followed by morning worship services at 10:50.

A potluck lunch will follow the worship service at noon in the Burgess Family Center. Singing will begin around 1:15 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Everyone is invited to attend. Bro. Ed Stephenson serves as pastor.

Barney Baptist Homecoming

Barney Baptist Church will hold its Homecoming at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 2.

There will be a children’s program followed by the morning speaker and potluck at noon. Singing will take place in the afternoon.

The church is located five miles north of Enola. The public is invited.

Rock of Ages Pastor’s Anniversary Celebration

Rock of Ages Church Baptist Church, located at 8112 Bicentennial Rd., North Little Rock, will honor its pastor and wife, the Rev. and Mrs. James E. Mackey, for seven years of service. The anniversary celebration will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 2. The Rev. George Toney III, pastor of Sixteen Section Baptist Church and Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello, Ark., will bring the anniversary message. An Inspirational Address will be given by the Rev. Charles Brown, pastor of Hickory Hill Baptist Church, Morrilton, Ark. Scripture: I Timothy 5:17, "Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine."

Revival at Happy Hollow Baptist

The public is invited to Revival at Happy Hollow Baptist Church. Special speaker will be Robert "Mac" McDaniel. There will be congregational and special singing.

The revival will take place at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 2-4 at 7 p.m.

Concert at First United Methodist

The Crosstown Trio will perform at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 2, in the Sanctuary at Conway First United Methodist Church.

Jackie Lamar (saxophone), Karen Griebling (viola) and John Krebs (piano) have been playing together since 1999; they have performed at international music conferences in Montreal, Thailand, Slovenia, Iceland, Scotland and Minneapolis. All three performers are professors of music — Jackie Lamar at the University of Central Arkansas and Karen Griebling and John Krebs at Hendrix College.

The program will take the form of a lecture-recital on the topic of Folk Music from Around the World, featuring a variety of music based on folk or traditional styles. As each work is presented, there will be a brief description of the music of each country or region and a short introduction to the piece about to played.

Vacation Bible School at St. James CME

St. James Christian Methodist Episcopal Church invites children and adults of all ages to come and take a tour of "Hip Hop Hope — Jesus Makes Me Glad," with this year’s Vacation Bible School.

VBS will be held 5-8 p.m. June 5-7. The church is located at 1304 Markham St. Pastor Charles Holloway.
