The Hendrix College band, directed by M.J. Lippman, will take part in the Arkansas livestock show in North Little Rock tomorrow. The 45-piece group will play two concerts and will put on a marching exhibition.

John Doolos, 16, son of Mrs. Lucille Doolos, was promoted to Eagle Scout last night in a Court of Honor at St. Joseph High School. Young Doolos is a member of Troop 78. Doug Dickerson is the scoutmaster. The youngster has been a Scout five years and last summer was initiated into the Order of the Arrow at Camp Quapaw. He has also received the "Ad Altare Dei," a church award. He is a junior at St. Joseph.

Artie Jones, a kindergarten teacher at Marguerite Vann Elementary School, recently was presented the annual Arkansas Outstanding Cooperating Teacher Award at the fall conference of the Arkansas Association of Teacher Educators.

Cynthia Thacker, a teacher at Sallie Cone Elementary School, was named a finalist in the competition.

The Conway Cardinals recently finished undefeated in league play and finished second in the postseason tournament in an 8-and-under pitching machine fall league at Maumelle. Team members are Kyler Tipton, Hayden Lemons, Carson Roberts, Landon Enderlin, Garrett Brewer, Nash Nichols, Kyle Ferguson, Cade Jones, Colton Ferrell, Taylor Schrekenhofer, Reagan Kelso, Tanner Rivers, and coaches Todd Tipton, Randy Nichols an Coy Roberts.
