Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Smith entertained a few friends at their home on Mitchell Street Friday evening following the Arkansas State Teachers College-Ouachita football game. Out-of-town guests were Dr. Hoyt Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Karl S. Nickle and Miss Mary Connelly of Little Rock. Conversation was enjoyed throughout the evening and refreshments were served.

Albert Larson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Larson and a senior at St. Joseph High School, was named winner today of an essay contest sponsored by the Conway Optimist Club.
Runners-up in the "What the Golden Rule Means to Youth" writing competition were Judy Baker and Curtis Coleman, both students at Conway High School, and Charles Hamling and Mary Frances Nahlen, who attend at St. Joseph.

Two Faulkner County runners placed second in their divisions yesterday in the Thanksgiving 7K run at Maumelle.
David Smedley of Conway was second in the 50-54 group in 27:49. Earl Guyer of Vilonia was second in the 60-and-over division in 31:05.
About 350 runners participated in the race.

The Conway Twisters are the U-13 recreation division champions of the 3-on-3 tournament held at Burns Park on Nov. 8 and 9. The Twisters are all members of Steve Martin’s C-USA 91 White U13 team. Team members are Travis Alexander, Christopher Dussourd, coach David Dussourd, Dustin Hensley, Ben Reiner and coach Dave.
