Sam Adkisson of Mt. Vernon reported to county officers last night his 1938 model Chevrolet sedan was stolen while he was attending a ball game at Mt. Vernon school gym. No trace of the machine had been found today. Mr. Adkisson did not have insurance on the car, officers said.

The seven seniors on the Conway football team gathered with Rex Lovell before Tuesday’s practice. Tomorrow they’ll put on the blue and white Wampus Cat uniform the last time for the game at Morrilton. They are tackle Ronny Yarbrough, guard Robert Bryant, center Leon Ryan, end Johnny Holt, tackle Travis Atterberry, tackle Tommy Wilson, and end Scott Montgomery. Bryant is the captain a two-way starter.

John Chance Horton of Conway, a cadet at the Missouri Military Academy at Mexico, Mo., recently earned a junior high school football letter at the school.
Horton is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Horton of Conway.

Army Pvt. Kenneth Gunter has graduated from One Station Unit Training at Fort Knox, Ky., which consisted of basic military training and advanced individual training.
Gunter is a son of Debra Henry of Greenbrier and Bryan Gunter of Featherville, Idaho. He is a 1998 graduate of Wichita West High School, Wichita, Kan.
