Complimenting Miss Jimmie Lawson, a senior in the Arkansas State Teachers College, who was leaving to take a position in s school in Muskogee, Okla., Miss Zona Ellen Smith entertained at a farewell party and dinner at home on Ash Street in her honor a few evenings ago. A dainty menu in courses was served and covers were placed for Miss Lawson and Walter Sims, Miss Florence Morris and Sloan Wayland, Miss Juanita Cox and Alvin Flynt, Miss Ora Blackmun and the hostess.

Edward J. Heiligers of st. Louis, Mo., son of Mrs. Sam M. Heiligers of Conway, recently was elected inspector general of the Scottish Rite’s 33rd degree organization in St. Louis.

The honorary position is one of the highest honors that may be bestowed upon a Mason.

CBS sportscaster Pat Summerall will serve as the master of ceremonies for the 1989 Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame Installation Banquet.

Hall of Fame president Buddy Coleman made the announcement yesterday as preparations continued for the Friday, Feb. 17, banquet at the Excelsior Hotel in Little Rock. University of Central Arkansas football coach Harold Horton will be one of the honorees.

Horton will be presented by Dave Woodman of KARK, Channel 4, and will receive his plaque from Tim Horton, his son and University of Arkansas football player.
