The Community Action Program for Central Arkansas will begin a Winter Utility Assistance Program beginning Monday, Feb. 24. This will be for gas, propane or electric. Applications will be taken Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays between the hours of 8:15-11 a.m. and 1:15-3:30 p.m. The office will be closed from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch. Applicants are seen on a first come first serve basis. Arriving between these hours does not guarantee that an interview can be conducted; staff will serve as many applicants as possible during the scheduled interview times. It is recommended that you arrive early.
All interested applicants must provide proof of all household income for the previous month for all household members 18 years of age or older, proof or lack of child support for all single parent households. If a household has not had income during the previous month, they must obtain a History of Claims from the Arkansas Workforce Center, CAPCA contribution and collateral statement. Applicants will also need to provide a copy of their most recent utility bill.
Applicants applying for crisis must have a disconnect or shutoff notice.
No determination can be made until all requested information has been received.
