Step into my den, pull up a comfy chair and a cup of tea and let’s chat.

The Wooster Farmers’ & Crafters’ Market got off to a crazy cold, wet and windy start. In fact, not a soul stayed for the market last Saturday because of all the rain we’ve had. Now, though, I hope we’re in for better days because spring produce is coming on strong and there should be something special for everyone. The Wooster City Park has a smooth paved walking track and playground equipment for the kids so families can enjoy shopping for fresh local foods and have an opportunity to play and exercise in a safe place. Come out early for a fun time and bring friends and the whole family.

Too bad the 2014 Memorial Day celebration scheduled at Wooster Park May 31 was cancelled. The presentation of three Quilts of Valor will be given away at the Independence Day celebration at the park on June 28. Mark that special day on your calendar.

If you have not signed up for Code Red yet, hurry before another storm. Go online to or call 866-939-0911. It will not cost you anything and can save lives. Greenbrier opted for this county service when they learned most of the sirens in town either could not be heard by all residents or did not work. It was going to cost a small fortune to repair them. This service is specific to Greenbrier and you may put in more than one phone or text contact.
