Members of the Wooster chapter were guests Thursday evening of the Palmetto chapter No. 47, Order of Eastern Star, for a business and social meeting, at the Masonic hall. A good attendance of members was reported, and dainty refreshments were served at the social hour.

Kenny Hall of Conway will be graduated from Georgia School of Technology in Atlanta, Ga., Saturday. He will receive an engineering degree.

Young Hall is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Royce Hall.

Hall will begin work July 6 in Port Arthur, Texas, for the Texaco Oil Co.

Nicola Orr of Conway, daughter and stepdaughter of Jan and Reed Martin, placed second in the state Young American Creative Patriotic Art contest sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Nicola, a student at Conway High School, and Mr. and Mrs. Reed will be guests at the state convention Saturday, June 17, where she is to receive $125 and a plaque. She was sponsored by the Jesse W. Grisham Post 2259 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and its auxiliary.

Landon Trusty, the much-decorated tight end from the University of Central Arkansas, is one of the newest members of the Dallas Cowboys.

After being summoned to the Cowboys’ mini-camp at the Valley Ranch near Irving, Texas, on Monday, Trusty signed a one-year contract for the free-agent contract for the NFL minimum salary of $240,000, sources indicated.
