The Conway Optimist Club presented its Angel Tree corporate coordinators with plaques after treating them to an appreciation lunch at Mike’s Place.

Angel Tree Coordinator Crystal Geraldson said that with the support of the corporate sponsors, the program provided 358 children in Faulkner County with Christmas gifts such as bikes, Barbies, video games, clothes, shoes and more.

“[Angel Tree] enables parents to provide Christmas for their children despite financial hardships,” she said.

Geraldson said this was her first year to act as coordinator for the program and that she most enjoyed seeing the parents’s reactions when they saw their child’s gifts.

“The looks on their faces was amazing,” she said.

Geraldson presented plaques to Kayla Taylor and Candiace McKissick from the Community Action Program for Central Arkansas (CAPCA); Lisa Lentz of Acxiom; Bret Carroll from Conway Corp, who received the award for Roberta Jones; Stephanie Vann from First Security Bank; Jennifer McCracken from Hendrix; Lynne Sponer from Kimberly Clark; Travis Mulhearn from the Farris Agency, who received the award for Christina Horn; Darlene Goff of Nabholz Construction; Jenny Kemper of Imagination Station; Pam Jackson of Snap-On Tools; Sherrie Berry of Faulkner County Title; and Scott Stevenson from the VFW.

Angel Tree Founder Al Hiegel attended the lunch as well.
