An Arkansas woman died in a three-car collision over the weekend, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

The crash occurred on the U.S. Highway 64 Bypass eastbound lane at Stanley Road in Vilonia just after 5 p.m. on Sunday, the report stated.

According to police, 25-year-old Guadalupe Del C. Castorena of Bentonville struck the rear end of another vehicle, a 1995 Jeep Cherokee, as it slowed for turning traffic.

Castorena's vehicle, a 2004 Chevy Cavalier, then began sliding sideways and an 18-wheeler struck its drivers side.

Both vehicles veered off the south side of the roadway into some trees.

When Castorena's vehicle struck a tree, the cab of the 18-wheeler slid onto the top of it.

Castorena sustained fatal injuries in the crash.

There was no report of any other injuries as of press time Monday.

Authorities described the weather as raining and the roads as wet at the time of the crash. There have been at least 31 fatalities on Arkansas roads in 2018, according to preliminary figures.
