The 15 person team with the assistance of the Western Regional Staff - Dr. Hart Gulliett, Nurse Franklin, the OR staff in Belmopan, and translator Amarilis Cunnil successfully completed ten orthopedic surgeries without complications.

This is the first time the team gained access to a local Belizean hospital and its operating rooms to assist impoverish patients in a joint goal to help those in need. There are no orthopedic surgeons in Belmopan or surrounding areas.

The team plans to return to Belize in July of this year for another surgical mission. For more information, contact Marcie Cole, RN at nurse.cole50@gmail.com or log onto theiguanasquad.com
