The Vilonia City Council will hear the second reading of a proposed annexation ordinance during its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall.

The meeting is open to the public.

Aldermen will discuss the proposal submitted by Preston Scroggin which requests “the annexation of certain lands to the city of Vilonia” and that the “described lands be given a low-density residential (LDR) zoning classification.”

The proposed ordinance describes the land as: “Part of the SE1/4 NE1/4 Section 13, T-5-N, R-12-W, Faulkner County, Arkansas being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a found 2" Aluminum Cap (1363) for the NE corner of said SE1/4 NE1/4; thence along the East line of said SE1/4 NE1/4 S01938'23" W a distance of 350.21' to a found RDF Cap; thence leaving said East line N88°25'43" W a distance of 248.24' to a found RDF Cap; thence N01o38'23" E a distance of 350.21' to a set 1" rebar w/cap (1363) being on the North line of said SE1/4 NE1/4; thence along said North line 888°25'43"E a distance of 248.24' to the point of beginning, containing 2.00 acre, more or less.”

The council is scheduled to hear the final reading and then vote on the ordinance during its May meeting.
