Residents have one week left to register in order to vote in May 22 election.
There are a few options on how to register but Faulkner County Clerk Margaret Darter said she recommends registering in person to avoid any mishaps.
“The best way to register to vote is to come to the County Clerk’s office and then you are assured you are registered to vote,” she said.
The clerk’s office is on the first floor of the Faulkner County Courthouse, which is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Residents may also download an application by going to the Voter Requirements tab on the county’s website at votefaulkner.com.
“The application may be downloaded , and it can be mailed, emailed or faxed to our office,” Darter said.
Applications can be mailed to the Faulkner County Courthouse at 801 Locust Street, Conway, AR 72034, or faxed to 501-450-4938.
Residents must be registered by 4:30 p.m. April 23 in order to vote on May 22.
“The deadline to register to vote for any election is always 30 days before the election,” Darter said, adding that because April 22 falls on a Sunday, “people will have until April 23 at close of business at 4:30 p.m. to register.”
For those already registered, early voting will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 7-11 and May 14-18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 12 and 19 and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 21 at the Faulkner County Courthouse, Faulkner County Library, McGee Sports Center, Mayflower City Hall, Vilonia First Baptist Church and Greenbrier City Event Center.
Polls will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, May 22, at 20 vote centers across the county.
