Two Faulkner County residents died in separate crashes over the weekend.
The first crash occurred in Boone County on U.S. Highway 62 just before 8:30 a.m. Sunday, according to an Arkansas State Police report.
Officials said 18-year-old Tyler Smith of Wesley was westbound on U.S. Highway 62 when his vehicle, a 2004 Dodge, crossed the centerline and collided head-on with an oncoming Chevrolet.
Smith, and the passenger of the Dodge, 19-year-old Russel Campbell of Damascus, died in the crash.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Anthony Thornton of Mountain Home was taken to Mercy Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
The second crash occurred just after 9 a.m. Sunday on State Highway 25 at Blaney Hill Road, according to an ASP report.
Police said 55-year-old James Ewing of Conway was driving a Suzuki motorcycle north on the highway when a Dodge Dakota pick-up truck pulled out in front of him after stopping at a stop sign on Blaney Hill Road.
Ewing was thrown from the motorcycle when it struck the front passenger side of the truck, the report stated. He died in the crash.
The driver of the truck, Cordia Sanson of Conway, was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center in Conway for injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities described the weather as clear and the road as dry at the time of both crashes.
There have been at least 149 fatalities on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary data.
