The Conway Community Band will perform a free concert featuring folk songs from around the world Saturday on the Kris Allen Stage at Simon Park.

The concert, which is the band's second performance of its summer season, will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Residents are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets in case seating runs out.

"There will be some bleacher and park bench seating, but concert-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets," band spokesman Jackie Lamar said in a news release.

The concert will include English folk songs from Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Folk Song Suite; American folk songs in American Folk Rhapsody by Clare Gundman, and Suite of Old American Dances by Robert Russell Bennett; Russian folk songs from Folk Dances by Dmitri Shostakovich; and Irish folk songs in An Irish Rhapsody by Clare Gundman.

To round out the program, the band will perform "Domingo Ortega," a Pasodoble March by Ledsma and Oropesa; "The Free Lance March" and "Stars and Stripes Forever" by John Philip Sousa.
