The University of Central Arkansas Board of Trustees will discuss several contracts during a special called meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The meeting is open to the public in Room 210 of Wingo Hall. The board will join via teleconference.

Trustees will consider a five-year contract with EAB Global Inc. for a little more than $3 million that would require legislative approval as well. EAB Global was chosen after the university sought requests for proposal (RFPs).

If approved, EAB would “provide student marketing, recruitment, and enrollment services,” according to the agenda packet, available to the public at www.uca.edu/botagenda.

Trustees will also discuss amending an existing job contract order with Nabholz Construction Services to convert existing space in Donaghey Hall to a welcome center. If approved, the project will begin in July or August. The university plans to have subcontractors bid on July 17.

The project is estimated to cost $675,000.

The board will consider a $309,000 contract for a new roof on the remaining sections of Mashburn Hall after "unexpected additional damage to decking" depleted the funds set aside last year to complete the multiple sections of the roof, the agenda item reads in part. The roof is expected to be complete by Oct. 1.

Trustees will review two contracts with Nabholz for improvements to Old Main and New Hall. If approved, Nabholz would install boilers, pumps, piping and other equipment to provide New Hall with hot water from Hughes Hall before school starts. The company would also replace the chiller, boiler and cooling tower for Old Main.

"Project will not be completed prior to start of school, but approval is needed in order to preserve quote [of $299,490] and order equipment," the proposal states.

Also Thursday, trustees will consider a $300,000 contract with WER Architects/Planners for "preliminary architectural services for a new Fine and Performing Arts building." The contract could be extended up to seven years.
