The Village Park of Conway, Inc. will host its Pulled Pork Fundraiser for the second year on Friday.
The second annual Pulled Pork Fundraiser event aims to raise awareness while also collecting funds for Alzheimer's Arkansas. This year's event features a Tropical Party theme.
"The residents and staff of Village Park have been very busy converting the facility into a tropical party zone," Village Park Administrator Krystal Gaines said. "Our residents truly enjoy hosting this event to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease as well as to assist in raising money for Alzheimer's Arkansas."
Alzheimer's Arkansas is an association that focuses on helping caregivers and families the best support while taking care of their loved ones suffering from Alzheimer's disease through educating them about the process of the disease, redirection techniques, support group facilities and also tools to help the caregiver and other family members to better aid their loved ones.
The tropical-themed event offers a $5 meal box, which includes a pulled pork sandwich, potato salad, baked beans and a slice of coconut cake.
Lunches will be available for anyone in the area to collect from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10 at Village Park of Conway, Inc., located at 1622 Scott St.
"Village Park is a community that focuses on the importance of family. People are our passion," Gaines said. "This is a great time to help spread knowledge and support a worthy cause."
Event organizers say they will deliver "within the Conway area" orders of 10 plates or more.
All proceeds from Friday's luncheon will benefit Alzheimer's Arkansas to assist families that have been directly affected by the disease.
