What type of business is it?
What specifically does your business do?
We provide individual, couples, family, and group therapy to the public. We also provide evaluation services, such as vocational evaluation, threat evaluation, and some mental health evaluations. Our goal is to help our clients to live the best life possible. We focus on wellness and a strengths perspective to help our clients overcome barriers to living life to the fullest.
Dr. and Mrs. Tresvil G. Pack
Why did you decide to open this business/location?
Conway is home for my family, and counseling is my calling, so it only makes sense to practice my calling in my hometown. We want to be able to serve Conway by providing a valuable service that will result in a healthier population.
What is the best part about owning/operating this business?
The best part is the opportunity to meet and help people from Conway and the surrounding communities. Seeing positive change in our clients is rewarding.
What has been the biggest surprise that has happened since opening this business?
The biggest surprise has been a call from Passages Malibu, the addiction treatment center you see advertised on television. They called to discuss my approach to addiction and evaluate whether we would be a good fit for follow up treatment for some of their clients as they are discharged from the inpatient program.
What is the best piece of advice you received before going into this business?
The most important, most obvious, and still the most difficult piece of advice to implement is that you have to go out and market your counseling services. If you just wait in your office for people to show up you are likely to be waiting until you run out of money to pay the rent.
What is the most important piece of advice you would give to someone starting out in business?
Make sure you have at least six months of operating capital before opening your doors and make sure you have a solid marketing plan that begins before your doors open.
What makes your business unique to Conway and Faulkner County?
Most of the counseling services in Conway are larger entities serving our schools, serving as community mental health centers, or are providing rehabilitative services for persons with mental illness. We are a small private practice and we offer individualized services to our clients. We don’t just focus on helping you overcome your current barriers, but we build an understanding of your strengths so that you can use those to avoid future barriers. We want you to live the best life possible and not just get to feeling better from your current problems.
