Two Faulkner County Arkansas State University-Beebe students in the Computer Systems and Networking Technology (CSNT) programs recently earned PC Pro and Security Pro certifications.

The PC Pro certification exam, designed by TestOut Corporation, measures and certifies that an applicant has achieved a basic understanding of computer hardware, software and networking.

Caleb Nolen of Mount Vernon earned certification in PC Pro. The Security Pro certification exam covers many aspects of securing networks and computers against many types of security threats, and measures student ability regarding computer security.

Zachary Bever of Conway earned certification in Security Pro.

Students enrolled in the CSNT program may pursue coursework toward an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Systems and Networking Technology, certification in certain areas, or take classes toward entrance into the workforce.

The CSNT technician troubleshoots, maintains, and networks computer systems for business, education, and industry. Coursework consists of computer hardware, software, networking, Cisco Internetworking, computer forensics, Linux, Microsoft server active directory/infrastructure, computer/network security, and virtualization.
