Johnny Saye of Vilonia, senior in the Arkansas State Teachers College, today accepted a fellowship offered by the department of economics of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. By terms of the fellowship, Saye will serve as graduate assistant in the department and will begin his duties next September.

An honor student, Saye is completing a brilliant career at Teachers College and will receive his degree at spring graduation. He is a member of two honor societies, the Alpha Chi, national honorary scholarship fraternity, and the Phi Alpha Theta, national honor history fraternity. He is a former president of the Phi Sigma Epsilon social fraternity and is a member of the Social Science Forum and the staff of The Echo, student newspaper. He was a member of the Teachers College team which won second honors in the Arkansas Forensic League tournament last year. He has debated four years.

Saye was valedictorian of his graduating class at Vilonia High School. He was president of the Faulkner County FFA and won the state FFA speaking contest in 1932. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Saye of Vilonia.

Articles of incorporation for the Ward-Chamberlin School Furniture Co. of Conway were filed yesterday with the secretary of state.

The company, which will manufacture furniture, can issue 300 shares of stock at $100 par.

Incorporators are Charles L. and Ruth Chamberlin and Newt P. Milam.

Faulkner Nursing Center residents Hazel Brown, Goldie Green, Belle Goss, Edna Thomason, Colleta Wilbourn, Velma Fowler and Margaret Rork admired a quilt they made during an open house yesterday at the center. About 100 people visited the center during the event to honor volunteers. The quilt was given away during the open house.

Letitia Meier, a Conway resident, has earned the Certified in Financial Management designation and the Certified Management Accountant designation from the Institute of Certified Management Accountants. These designations were earned through comprehensive exams onfinancial management, accounting and related subjects.
