Ashley Hum of Conway and John Paul Clawson of Slidell, La., both currently residing in Memphis, Tenn., have announced their enagagement and forthcoming marriage.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Patrick Joseph Hum II and Lisa Kay Smith Hum of Conway. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Hum Jr. of North Little Rock, Mrs. Kay Weatherly and the late Dr. Harley Weatherly of Conway and Mrs. A.C. Smith and the late Dr. A.C. Smith of North Little Rock.   

She is a 2003 graduate of St. Joseph High School, a 2007 summa cum laude graduate of Christian Brothers University (Memphis), and a 2009 graduate of The University of Memphis, with a Master of Science in psychology. She is currently a clinical doctoral candidate at The University of Memphis with an expected graduation date of May 2014. She is a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority and is currently employed at The University of Memphis.

The prospective groom is the son of Michael Clawson of Columbia, Miss., and Mrs. Phyllis and Mr. Bob Delpuget of Pearl River, La. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Geraldine) Martory of New Orleans, La., Mrs. Dell Clawson of Columbia, Miss., and the late Richard Clawson.

He is a graduate of St. Paul High School in Covington, La., a graduate of Christian Brothers University (Memphis), with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, and Baptist College of Health Sciences in Memphis, with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.

He is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and is currently employed as an emergency department nurse at Baptist DeSoto Hospital and Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, Memphis.

The wedding is set to take place at 6 p.m. July 7 at Saint Edward’s Catholic Church in Little Rock.
