Joseph Enderlin, Conway ginner, last night was elected to membership of the board of directors of the First National Bank. His election was unanimous, H.S. Couch Jr., president, said.
Other members of the board are: Mr. Couch, Mayer Gates, J.I. Summers and J. Wendell Henry.
Faulkner County’s new Dairy Princess is Gayle Bivens, a 17-year-old graduate of Guy-Perkins High School.
Bivens, who has black hair and brown eyes, was chosen to succeed Pat Halsey on Centerville.
She will compete in the Arkansas Dairy Princess contest to be held here June 19-22.
Margo Doggett of Greenbrier was the runner-up in last night’s contest staged at Greenbrier school.
Bivins was awarded a $25 cash prize by the Farm Bureau. She also was presented a bouquet of red roses.
Guy-Perkins will open play in the Class AA state baseball tournament next week against Jonesboro Westside of Ridgecrest, whoever is the runner-up in the Northeast Region.
The Thunderbirds, champions of AA East Central, will play at 6 p.m. Monday. The games will be played at the UCA diamond.
Hannah Copeland and Delta Bryant helped each other pin on flowers before Mayflower High School graduation Tuesday night at the University of Central Arkansas Farris Center. The white carnations were worn by every senior in memory of Chris Semora, a classmate who died this year.
