Cadron Post Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, honored a Reserve Officers’ Training Corps cadet at the University of Central Arkansas on April 19 at the Hole in the Wall restaurant in Conway. The NSDAR National Defense Committee gives the medal to a “graduating ROTC student who has demonstrated academic excellence, dependability, good character, adherence to military disciplines, leadership and a fundamental and patriotic understanding of the importance of Reserve Officers Training Corps.” Cadet Ashley Scott (right) receives congratulations from Carol Rolf, regent, upon receiving the gold medal. Scott, 22, is a daughter of Don and Jamie Scott of Dennard. She is a graduate of Clinton High School and is scheduled to graduate from UCA in December with a degree in addictive and behavioral studies. She hopes to complete an Army Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis, Wash., in preparation for entering the Army Medical Service Corps.
