A trio of scarecrows stood guard yesterday over a vegetable garden at the Jim Walker home on Acklin Gap Road. The straw-stuffed sculptures were recently erected by Walker and his two sons, Caleb, 5, and Caperton, 3. Walker said that after he fashioned the taller scarecrow, the boys commented it looked like their dad and wanted to have themselves represented in the garden. He said the boys stuffed the figures with straw and attired them with their choice of old clothes. When asked if any crows had been spotted, Caleb said, "No, so they must work!"
