Beta Sigma Phi Laureate Alpha Omega

The annual Beta Sigma Phi state convention was held in June in Little Rock sponsored by chapters from Little Rock, North Little Rock and Benton. Members of Laureate Alpha Omega chapter attending the weekend activities were Vernelle Crews, Judy Schultz, Florene Phipps and Bert Lackey.

At the Saturday forum, Little Rock Vice Mayor Doris Wright read a proclamation declaring it to be Beta Sigma Phi Weekend. Four members from the International BSP office attended.

They led a game called “Trust Me, I’m a Game Show Host,” in which members had to choose correct answers to questions about sorority history and procedures.

A state BSP Woman of the Year was announced and awards were presented for attendance and achievement followed by door prize drawings.

At the Sunday brunch, a beautiful memorial ritual was held to honor those sisters lost during the year. A yellow rose for each was presented to their chapter. Members also remembered from Laureate Alpha Omega chapter were Peggy Hahn and Mary Jane Moix.

The next state convention will be held in Fayetteville in June 2015.
