Mr. and Mrs. Bill and Fonda Wallis of Vilonia have announced the engagement and forthcoming wedding of their daughter Amy Beth to Samuel Woodrow Phifer of Conway.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Louise Wallis and the late Blake Wallis of Marshall and the late Bob and Letha Shelton of Big Flat. 

She is a 2007 graduate of Vilonia High School. 

Currently, she is a senior at Arkansas State University obtaining a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. While at ASU, she has been named to the chancellor’s list for the past three semesters.

The prospective groom is the son of Steven and Nancy Thacker and the late Greg Phifer all of Conway. He is the grandson of Virginia Rook and the late Dr. O.W. Rook, the late Boyce and Nora Phifer, and Reece and Floy Thacker all of Conway. 

He is a 2003 home school graduate. He is heavily involved with the hay operation on his family farm, a member of the Reserve Unit for the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office, and was chosen Reserve Deputy of the year for 2009. 

Currently, he is employed in the glass tinting division at Bale Honda.

The wedding is set to take place at 2 p.m. Aug. 14. The ceremony will be held at Oak Bowery Baptist Church in Conway. Friends and family are invited.
