Jim and Paulette Herring of Conway will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 6, 2012.

The couple was married Sept. 6, 1962, in the home of the Rev. Kenneth R. Brown in Conway.

She is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Nelson of Bald Knob.

He is the son of the late Jim and Mary Lee Herring of Hot Springs.

They met at Central Baptist College and went on to the University of Central Arkansas.

They both retired from the Pulaski County School District in 1994. Mrs. Herring had worked for 31 years as a teacher and counselor, and Mr. Herring had worked for 30 years in administration.

They both went to work at Central Baptist College, where they both retired.

The couple has one son, Randy Herring of Bentonville.

The couple plans to take a Mediterranean cruise with college friends, Norman and Norma Crass.
