J.D. and Betty Hamby of Conway celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday, Oct. 26, with a private family dinner.

Mr. Hamby married the former Betty Bryant in Bradford, Ark., on Oct. 18, 1952.

The couple moved to Flint, Mich., where they lived for 44 years.

J.D. worked for General Motors in Flint and retired after 38 years. Betty was very successful in sales with Home Interiors Inc.

They moved back to Arkansas in 1996.

They are the parents of Cindy (Craig) Hering, Sharon (Tom) Rose and Mark Hamby. They have six grandchildren: Joshua (Lisa) Birmingham, Chad Rose, Adam (Whitney) Rose, Kylee (Matt) Johnston, Daniel Hamby and Andrew Hamby.

They also have 10 great-grandchildren: Malerie, Raygan, Addison, Grace, Harrison, Anna Grace, Alexis, Branden, Erica and Alex.
