When I awoke this morning, I heard the following words in my head: "God Loves Victory." Scriptures followed. "But thanks be to God which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 15:57); "…let the Lord be magnified, which has pleasure in the prosperity of his servants" (Psalms 35:27b); and finally, King David said, "Both riches and honor come of God and God reigns over all for in his right hand is power and might; and it is in God’s hand to make great and give strength to all" (1 Chronicles 29:12). God wants us to prosper and be victorious in life. It brings God pleasure when we are victorious.

Riches, honor, power, and might are all God’s and come from Him, and He showers them upon us. As we achieve great successes in our lives, we can celebrate along with God, knowing that He is pleased with our victories. As we continue in this life and our walk with Christ, we find that riches, honor, and power are not just referring to material gain but spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical gain as well. God wants us to be well rounded and have a zeal for life and not just think about how happy we will be in Heaven. The Psalmist said, "I would had fainted or given up had I not believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living" (Psalms 27:19). God intended for us to reap good things now, here on Earth—joy, peace, hope, and money, just to name a few. (For those who despise the idea of money, it is not evil, but it is the love of money that is evil.)

It is up to us to position ourselves to receive the blessings of the Lord. The word "blessing" in many scriptures is translated "happy." God wants happy marriages, singles, children, and young and old alike.

Remember, this is the year of incredible opportunities and we are victorious. God said so.
