Mount Olive Cemetery work day set

 

There will be a work day held at Mt. Olive Cemetery beginning at 8 a.m. Sept. 3 to help with tornado cleanup and repair from April’s storm. 

The cemetery is located on the corner of Coker and Rocky Point roads in Vilonia. 

Individuals are asked to bring tools and equipment to help with the effort, including a small tractor with a front end loader to help with lifting monuments that were knocked over during the storm.

Greenbrier Church of the Nazarene to host Bible study

 

Beth Moore Bible Study "Living Beyond Yourself" will be held at 5 p.m. each Sunday or at 9 a.m. every Tuesday starting Sept. 6 and going through Nov. 13 at the Greenbrier Church of the Nazarene. 

Harlan Park Baptist to host ‘Soul Surfer’ family movie night

 

Harlan Park Baptist Church will show the 2010 film "Soul Surfer" from 6-7:45 p.m. Sunday in the church’s multi-purpose room.  

"Soul Surfer" is the inspiring story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack and courageously overcame all odds, through determination and faith to become a champion again. 

The film’s cast features AnnaSophia Robb and Helen Hunt, with Carrie Underwood in her film debut, along with Dennis Quaid. In the wake of the life-changing event that took her arm and nearly her life, Bethany’s feisty fortitude and steadfast faith spur her toward an adventurous comeback that turns her loss into a gift for others. 

The event is free to the public with popcorn and finger foods served during the movie.
