Amy Beth Wallis and Samuel Woodrow Phifer were united in marriage Aug. 14 at Oak Bowery Baptist Church. Tim Nolan performed the double-ring ceremony. 

The bride is the daughter of Bill and Fonda Wallis of Vilonia. She is the granddaughter of Louise Wallis and the late Blake Wallis of Marshall and the late Bob and Letha Shelton of Big Flat. The groom is the son of the late Greg Phifer and Steven and Nancy Thacker, all of Conway. He is the grandson of Virginia Rook and the late Dr. O.W. Rook, the late Boyce and Nora Phifer and Reece and Floy Thacker, all of Conway.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a formal gown of white taffeta with beaded spaghetti straps leading to the lace covered v-neckline. The spaghetti straps were V-shaped down the back leading to the buttons down the semi-cathedral length train.

Matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Angie Agdeppa. Bridesmaids were Kerry Hawkins and Casey Stocks. Bridesmaids wore black knee-length dresses accented with ivory sashes and rhinestone backings.  

Serving as ring bearer was Wallis Agdeppa, nephew of the bride, and the flower girl was Addisyn Agdeppa, niece of the bride.

Presiding at the bride’s book were Shelayna and Cheyenne Shelton.

Best man was Justin Spiller. Groomsmen were Willy Barnhart and Josh Berry. Ushers were Justin Ramsey and Mike Sims. Mother and grandmother of the bride were escorted by Blake Wallis, brother of the bride.  Mother and grandmothers of the groom were escorted by the groom.

A reception followed in the family life center. The area was decorated with black and white fabric draping from the ceiling and a chandelier in the center of the room. Guest tables were covered in white floor length tablecloths and decorated with alternating centerpieces of candle arrangements and glass vases of pink gladiolus.

The bride’s table featured a four-tiered white cake decorated with black ribbon and a black monogram topper.  

The groom’s table, covered with a camouflage tablecloth, included hunting and John Deere items. The groom’s cake was a two-layer chocolate cake. 

Servers were Julie Phifer and Ashley Phifer, sisters of the groom, Kala Neal, Kristen Luebke, Sarah Loyd and Teagan Swain. Food was prepared by Patty Neal and Lisa Hust.

A rehearsal dinner honoring Sam and Amy Beth was held on Friday night at the home of the groom’s parents. A Mexican fiesta theme was used in decorating and menu selections.  

Guests were served chicken and beef fajitas, tortillas, guacamole, Mexican rice and refried beans. Dessert selections included raspberry, turtle and plain cheesecake bites and assorted cookies. 

The meal was prepared by Rick and Peggy Sublett. The guests were seated around the pool at tables decorated with brightly colored tablecloths and pots of zinnias were used as centerpieces. After the meal, the guests enjoyed swimming and visiting. Special out of town guests include Ashley Phifer of Portland, Ore., sister of the groom and Pam and Lynn Woolard of Merritt Island, Fla., aunt and uncle of the groom.
