Miss Laura Fields and Mr. John Downey, both of Conway, have announced their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Daniel and Martina Fields of Conway, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kordsmeier and the late Mr. Bill Fields.

She is a 2007 graduate of St. Joseph High School, a 2009 graduate of the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton with an associate of arts degree in general education and is currently enrolled in St. Vincent’s School of Radiologic Technology in Little Rock.

She is a former employee of Model Cleaners.

The prospective groom is the son of Robert Earl and Tanya Downey of Conway. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Downey, Ms. Carolyn Downey, Ms. Gladys Southerland and the late Cloys Southerland, and Mr. and Mrs. Ferriest Richardson.

He is a 2005 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a 2006 graduate of Pulaski Technical College’s Diesel Mechanic program.

He is currently employed as a mover for Downey Moving and Storage.

The wedding is set to take place at 1 p.m. July 23 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 1115 College Ave., Conway.

A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
