Lana Michelle Hazel of Conway and Stephen Russell Counce of Memphis, Tenn., have announced their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Roger and JoAnna Hazel of Clarksville, Ark., and Marlene Tucker Hazel of Conway. She is the granddaughter of James and Norma Hazel of Russellville, and the late Jerry and Wanda Tucker of Conway.
She is a 2007 graduate of Conway High School, and a 2011 graduate of the University of Arkansas with bachelor degrees in mathematics, spanish and journalism. She graduated valedictorian in high school and summa cum laude from the U of A.
Lana is currently a full-time student in the doctoral program at the University of Memphis for statistics, where she is a graduate assistant.
The prospective groom is the son of Mark and Angela Counce of Memphis, Tenn. He is the grandson of the late Bill and Charlene Counce of Memphis, Tenn., and the late Kirk and JoAnn Thieben of Springfield, Ill.
He is a 2007 graduate of Memphis University School, and a May 2011 graduate of the University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree of science in industrial engineering. He was a student leader for Campus Crusade for Christ in Fayetteville.
Stephen is currently a manager-in-training at Intermodal Cartage, an intermodal transportation provider, in Memphis, Tenn.
The wedding is set to take place at 4 p.m. Dec. 3, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Conway.
A reception will follow at Centennial Valley Country Club.
