Mr. and Mrs. Robert Earl Downey of Conway are announcing the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Miss Amanda Downey to Mr. Paul Jones, both of Conway.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. Robert Earl Downey and Mrs. Tanya Downey. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Ferriest and Mrs. Rojana Richardson of Conway, Ms. Carolyn Downey of Conway, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Edwin Downey of Conway, and Mrs. Gladys Southerland of Drasco, Ark., and the late Mr. Cloys Southerland.

She is a 2007 honor graduate of Conway High School. She attended Rogers State University in Claremore, Okla., on a soccer scholarship, and attended the University of Central Arkansas. She is currently a nursing student at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and employed part-time at Salem Place Nursing and Rehab Center as a certified nursing assistant (CNA).

The prospective groom is the son of Mr. Cleveland Jones and Mrs. Tracy Jones of Conway. He is the grandson of Mrs. Nadene Crumpler of Mt. Holly, Ark., and the late Mr. Francis D. Crumpler, and the late Mr. Hastings and Mrs. Minnie Jones of El Dorado, Ark.

He is a 2006 graduate of Conway High School. He attended the University of Central Arkansas and is a December 2011 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock from the College of Engineering and Information Technology, with a Bachelor of Science in construction management.

He was member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, at UCA, from Spring 2007-Fall 2010, a member of Sigma Lambda Chi International Construction Honors Society at UALR, and was also on the Dean’s List at UALR, Fall 2009-Fall 2011.

He is currently employed as a pre-construction specialist with Nabholz Construction Services.

The wedding is set to take place at 1 p.m. June 9, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway.

Reception will follow at Centennial Valley Events Center.
