A 52-year-old Vilonia man arrested Saturday morning for allegedly shooting at a 24-year-old man was charged Monday with one count of aggravated assault.

According to Vilonia Police Chief Brad McNew, the victim was returning 52-year-old David Mallory’s 17-year-old daughter to her 21 North Street Home at about 5:30 a.m. when Mallory fired more than one shot at him.

The victim, who wasn’t hit, fled and called 9-1-1. Vilonia police responded to the home to find that Mallory refused to come out and called for a S.W.A.T. team. The S.W.A.T. team was assembled in a nearby parking lot when Mallory surrendered to police at about 7 a.m.

According to deputy prosecutor Chuck Clawson, Mallory and the victim had "some history." Mallory had been released on bond Monday.
