Local authorities say that lightning and at least one tornado have caused damage in Faulkner and Cleburne counties, but there have been no immediate reports of injuries.

Maj. Andy Shock of the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office said that in addition to several reports of power outages in the Greenbrier area, a home on Sinai Road southeast of Conway sustained some lightning damage during Wednesday night’s storms.

Shock said that a tornado touched down just west of Quitman at about 9:15 p.m.

Initial reports include one home destroyed and another home damaged.

At 10 p.m., the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office was accepting emergency phone calls only, and officials could not be reached for comment.
