Conway police responded to a possible shooting at Willow Street Apartments when gunfire was heard at about noon Monday.
Officers witnessed a black male running north away from the apartments, 207 Willow Street, with an object, presumed to be a firearm, in his hand.
CPD public information officer Chris Harris said officers did not locate the suspect.
“We don’t have much to go on at this point. Everyone there stated they did not know who he was. We did not locate a bullet hole or anything else,” Harris said.
Harris said two groups within the complex have been in arguments for two days.
Monday police responded to an escalated verbal disturbance where a reported black male shot a round. Witnesses would not state who the shot was fired at or the name of the suspect.
“When (police) were canvassing the area, they located a man who matched a description but after a photo lineup with witnesses, it was later determined that it was not him,” Harris said.
The suspect is said to be a black male in blue jeans, a white tank top and stocking cap.
