Conway High opened its golf season Monday with a clean sweep in the Wampus Cat Invitational at Conway Country Club.
The Wampus Cats and Lady Cats claimed team titles, while the Conway teams had medalists in both boys and girls divisions.
Conway White edged El Dorado by one stroke for the girls title, 258-259. Summar Roachell fired a 74 to claim girls medalist honors, holding off a major challenge from Emily Sinclair of El Dorado, who fired a 76.
Other scores for Conway White were: Bryce Wolfe, 90; Morgan Clark, 94; Tristan Jenkins, 97; Brooke Lea, 113.
Greewood was third at 265, followed by St. Joseph at 273 (Heather Moix, 83: Hegeman, 89; and Hannah Rehm, 103). Hot Spring Lakeside came in at 276 and Cabot was sixth at 290. Harrison, Bryant and Russellville had individual participants as did Conway Blue (Allison Eller, 95, and Anna Turner, 110).
Conway White took a nine-stroke victory in the boys division with a combined 292.
The Wampus Cats’ Parker Rice sailed to medalist honors with a 67. Tim Netherton came in at 73 and Blake Darnell 75. Tyler Pinney and Chase Netherton both shot 77s.
Hot Springs Lakeside was second at 301, followed by Cabot (302), Central Arkansas Christian (306), Conway Blue (313), Harrison (320), Little Rock Catholic (327), Greenwood (329), Bryant (332), Russellville (336), St. Joseph (343) and North Little Rock (347).
Scoring for Conway Blue were: Tanner Bezet (76), Tony Sossong (77), Connor Prout (79), Carson Roberts (82) and Austin Smith (83)
Scoring for St. Joseph were the fivesome of Enderlin (82), Mallett (85), Castleberry (88), Hambuchen (88) and Bummester (102).
The Conway teams have a match today at Greystone Country Club in Cabot.
