A Conway man died Monday morning after a one-vehicle accident on Hardy Street on Sunday.

Alfredo Preito, 25, was pronounced dead by the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office after being transported to a Little Rock hospital from Conway Regional Medical Center.

According to the police report, Preito was travelling west on Hardy Street when his vehicle left the roadway. The underside of the vehicle struck a drain culvert as the vehicle continued into the yard and struck the mailbox at 1706 Hardy. The vehicle travelled across two driveways before striking a second mailbox at 1708 Hardy and reentering the roadway.

Witnesses said the vehicle drifted across the roadway and through the intersection at South Davis Street. The vehicle became airborne after traveling up an embankment.

The vehicle landed about 50 feet away and traveled another 145 feet before striking a tree on the passenger side. The vehicle traveled another 35 feet and struck a carport out-building. Upon impact, the vehicle tilted forward with the rear coming off the ground, rotated and finally landed.

At the time of the report, officers did not know if there were any contributing factors to the accident.
