The deadline for the 2011 Faulkner County Leadership Institute class is Tuesday.
"We are always looking for a diverse class ranging from non-profit workers all the way to corporate executives," said George Heintzen III, recruitment chair. "The classmates tend to learn from each other and form new friendships."
Members of the class will meet one day a month to cover a broad curriculum of civic and social issues in and around Faulkner County. Curriculum topics include state government, county government, agriculture, economic development, human services, healthcare and education.
Applications may be downloaded at www.fclionline.org. There is a $25 application fee and is refundable if the applicant is not selected. The application fee goes towards the tuition cost.
Participation is open to people who live or work in Faulkner County and are at least 25 years of age. The balance of the tuition is $575 and may be paid by the applicant or by the applicant’s employer.
A limited number of full or partial scholarships are available. In the past, many companies have been heavily involved in sponsoring their employees to go through the Institute.
The deadline for the applications is by close of business and delivered to the Chamber of Commerce. Members will be chosen in September and orientation will be in November.
Classes will begin in January 2011 with the retreat.
