Mrs. Medora Silaz was elected chairman of the Faulkner County Women’s Democratic Club at a meeting held yesterday at the home of Mrs. H. B. Ingram. Mrs. Ingram, whom Mrs. Silaz succeeds, presided at the meeting.

Other officers were elected as follows: Mrs. I. N. McCollum, vice chairman; Mrs. George Alewyne, treasurer; Mrs. T.  O. Sparks, recording secretary; and Mrs. E. A. Spessard, corresponding secretary.

Dairy farmers and their families, as well as others interested in dairying in Conway, Pope, Faulkner, Van Buren and Perry counties, have been invited to attend the annual meeting of District Six, American Dairy Association of Arknasas, here tonight.

The meeting will be held at Tommy’s Restaurant from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

Agricultural extension service dairyman Morris Ewing will be featured on the program.

Dorothy Andrews of Conway was the winner of a certificate for $100 worth of beef at a recent drawing sponsored by the Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association.

Winners of rib-eye steaks, selected in drawings at four Conway grocery stores, were Louis Streb, Emogene Wharton, Lena Harris, Sarah Bixler, Beverly Young, Steve Forreston, Jackie Pierce and Dorothy Turner, all of Conway.

Conway quilter Irma Gail Hatcher will be among the quilters featured Saturday on the Arkansas Educational Television Network.

She will join other quilters who will demonstrate their skills and share their knowledge with Arkansans during the live program "The Art of Quilting: Arkansas Quilts II," airing at 1 p.m. Saturday on AETN.
