The Conway Civic League met for a noon luncheon at the Conway Country Club last Wednesday. Susan Standridge introduced Joan Hanna, director of the Conway Women’s Chorus.

Hanna gave a brief history of the group and introduced its members, who then presented a program of choral music centered around a Christmas theme; there were several solos. Accompanying on the piano was Bryan Cole.

Following the buffet lunch, a short business meeting was held, conducted by president Rosanne Johnson. Club member Wanda Meador led the group in reading the Collect.

Secretary Sharon Lessenberry read the minutes of November’s meeting and reported that 44 members responded to roll call. Treasurer Sandra Hudson gave her report, announcing that each month the league members make donations supporting CAPCA and Bethlehem House.

President Johnson acknowledged the hostesses, Terry Hendrickson, Florine Bell, Wanda Eason, Beneva Farris, Sylvia Meriwether and Laura Simpson, commending them on the beautiful table arrangements. Special recognition was given to Suzanne Brazil for her help in decorating.

Vice president Marsha McClanahan announced that the next meeting will be held Jan. 19 at the Country Club, and that Brad Lacy, President/CEO of the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce and Conway Development Corporation will be the speaker.

After holiday wishes were given, the meeting was adjourned.
