Conway High School’s girls held off Sheridan 88-65 on the road Friday night to remain undefeated. Enjonae Chambers led the Lady Cats (10-0) with 30 points, and Taylor Gault chipped in 19. Madison Foster added 13 points. Quay Allen-Smith had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Bre Hobbs had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Cats return from Christmas break with a matchup against Sallisaw, Okla. at Siloam Springs on Dec. 29 at 5 p.m.
Guy Perkins split a pair of senior high games against Jasper at Guy. The senior boys topped the Pirates 60-53 with Brandon Rooney leading the way with 26 points. Alex Davis added 14 points, and Bryan Hooten 10 rebounds and eight points.
Jasper edged Guy Perkins’s senior girls 61-59. Lanie Lagasse scored 19 points, and Alexis Hogan scored 18 points.
Guy hosts a pair of senior games tonight against Litle Rock Fair beginning at 6 p.m.
Vilonia’s senior girls broke away from Batesville in the second quarter and never looked back en route to a 43-35 win Friday night.
Maggie Brewer led the Eagles with 15 points and five steals. Katherine Puckett added 13 points and five rebounds, and Julie Stanley grabbed seven rebounds.
Vilonia plays Beebe in the Battle of the Brier today at 2:30 p.m.
Greenbrier’s Lady Panthers downed Little Rock Christian, 31-23, in ninth-grade girls basketball Thursday night at Panther Pavilion.
Sydney Smith led the Lady Panthers (6-3, 2-1) with 10 points. Catie Metcalf had seven and Morgan McCormick had four.
LR Christian won the ninth-grade boys game, 33-27. Malik Wright led the Panthers with eight points, Kason Clutter added six, and Jordan Wilcox had four.
Greenbrier’s eighth-grade boys defeated Little Rock Christian 29-27. Sam Colbert led the Panthers (1-3) in scoring with 10 points. Will Drewery had six and Ethan Edwards added four.
In the eighth-grade girls game, the Lady Panthers (1-3) also won their first game of the year with a 22-16 victory over LR Christian. Hannah Cleveland and Brooklyn Freelyn led the Panthers with six points each. Hayley Maxwell and Savannah Baker added four each.
The eighth-grade teams will be back in action after Christmas break when they travel to Morrilton Jan. 10th.
The ninth-grade teams of Greenbrier will play over the Christmas break in the Cabot tournament, Dec. 28-30. The girls will play at 1:45 p.m. on the 28th while the boys will play at 3 p.m.
Carl Stuart Middle School defeated Greenbrier twice Thursday in seventh-grade boys basketball.
The Kittens won the A game, 30-12.
Leading scorers for Carl Stuart were: Prentice Mullins 12, Jakolby Jones five, Cole Tollett four, Breylin Smith three, Blaine Booher, Trey Kellybrew, and Clay Bradshaw, two each each.
Andrew Knopp scored six points for Greenbrier, Jacob May added four and Tyler Williams two.
Carl Stuart won the B game 16-4. Leading scorers for Carl Stuart were DeShawn Westerfield and Tanner Thone, six.
