Conway police spent most of Thursday morning in pursuit after a young horse escaped from his pasture and ventured into residential neighborhoods.

According to CPD Public Information Officer Lt. Laura Taylor, police were notified after the horse was seen grazing at Julia Lee Moore Elementary School.

Spooked by the police presence, the horse ran and led officers on a near three-hour chase down White Oak Drive to Shady Lane Drive and across Prince Street before being caught at a residence on Sherwood Drive.

Taylor said the horse was not injured during the pursuit and is safely back with his owner. The horse escaped from a pasture near Tyler Street and Country Club Road.
