Eight sets of community committeemen to assist in the administration of the AAA cotton program for 1936 are being elected today and tomorrow in Faulkner County.

Tom Lindsey won a Shetland pony and Gary Baty a go-cart at a drawing at Watkin’s Western Village Saturday.

A pheasant hat given away Saturday at Hinton’s Store was won by Leta Jo Williams.

Michael Mark Hawley of Rolla, Mo., received a master’s degree in divinity recently from New Orleans Theological Seminary in New Orleans. Hawley is married to the former Maryjane Starkey of Conway. A graduate of Central Baptist College, he is now pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Enterprise, Miss.

Jason Kordsmeier, son of Danny Joe and Melanie Kordsmeier has reached the level of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.

A senior at St. Joseph High School, Kordsmeier is a member of Scout Troop 78, White Tail Patrol. He was presented his Eagle Scout Medal during speical ceremonies held Oct. 25 at the Conway Knights of Columbus Hall.

Kordsmeier’s parents, state Sen. Stanley Russ and local scout leaders were involved in the presentation.

His father serves as Scout Master for the troop and also earned the Eagle Rank in 1975.
