Conway Blue avenged an early lose in the season to Conway White, taking 60-53 victory Saturday afternoon at Buzz Bolding Arena.

Both teams started that game in a high intensity high pace match up. AJ Burton paced Blue by scoring 12 of the teams first 16 points. Blue was able to put a small run together to go into the half up 28-24.

White’s Dustin Tims hardly missed a shot during the third quarter. He scored 12 of his 16 point during the period, but White fought back to tie the score up 40 all going into the final period.

During the fourth, Blue connected on two 3-pointers to start a run that allowed them to pull ahead, including hitting 9 of 10 free throws.

"This was a good win for us," Blue coach Tommy McMillan said. "We played extremely hard this afternoon. AJ and Trent (Walder) both shot the ball well and Trent’s defense on Tims after he got hot in the second half was tremendous. Now I hope we can keep this intensity up for the game on Monday at Cabot South."

Burton finished with 28 points tot lead Blue. Walder added 17 points, while Darvin Thompson finished with 11.

To go along with Tims’ 16, Sydney Moore had 10 for White.
