The pretrial date for the Beebe man charged with capital murder in the death of a Greenbrier woman has been moved to March.

Ronald Adrean Britton Jr. will appear in Faulkner County Circuit Court for a pretrial hearing on March 14 pending a mental evaluation requested by the state.

Britton was charged with capital murder after he was arrested in connection with the stabbing death of 26-year-old Michelle Asher of Greenbrier in August.

Asher was found dead in her backyard Aug. 14 with multiple stab wounds to the neck and torso. Britton was arrested later that day in El Paso.

Asher’s family said she had been missing for about 24 hours when a family friend went to the residence and found her body lying in the yard.

Lt. Matt Rice with the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office said detectives developed leads about Britton and his whereabouts through interviews with Asher’s family and other sources. Rice also said Asher and Britton had some sort of relationship, though he didn’t know if that relationship had ended at the time of Asher’s death.

Britton was denied bond during his first appearance Aug. 16 and is being held in the Faulkner County Detention Center Unit II.
