Conway police are still searching for the man who allegedly attempted to lure children into his vehicle near a local school last week.
Lt. Susan Wilson with the Conway Police Department said a white or light-skinned male "with one eye larger than the other" was near Simon Intermediate School, 1600 Siebenmorgan Road, Thursday when he told the children involved that their mother wanted them to ride with him. When the children refused, the suspect allegedly got out of his vehicle, causing the children to run. The suspect then left the scene.
Wilson said the Criminal Investigation Division has interviewed several people in an attempt to locate the suspect. She said all leads are being investigated, but had no other information at this time.
The suspect was seen driving a red or maroon compact car with dark tinted windows.
Wilson urged parents to caution children on the dangers of riding with strangers and encourage them to report suspicious vehicles or persons.
Anyone with information on a possible suspect or those whose children may have had a similar experience are urged to contact the Conway Police Department at 450-6120 or their School Resource Officer.
